We book safaris on a minimum of 7 days to a maximum of 14 days hunting in South Africa, with the normal duration of a safari being 11 nights and 10 days of hunting ~ This will ensure that you leave South Africa with a good mixed bag of exciting, quality, trophies. We will help you to plan and to tailor make your safari to suit your needs, to meet your trophy requirements, your preferred length of stay and most importantly your budget. In other words we will guide you to build your own package hunt that is designed to exactly what you want out of your safari.
Hand chosen and experienced professional hunters will be with you every step of the way to guide you to a successful and fun safari. The weather in the Northern Cape region is typical of any semi-desert area with fluctuating temperatures and varying topographies. Although the annual rainfall is low (approx. 50 – 400 mm) the grass is very sweet and palatable, with scattered Camel Thorn Trees and Acacia Thorn Bush whose pods serve as a great winter fodder for the game.
The bushy little coves in the range of hills hold an abundance of game and the smell of buffalo is rife. If you want a challenging buffalo hunt on foot, up close and personal “the old school way“ then this is the place for you to hunt!! By South African Law a minimum caliber of .375 is to be used to hunt any of the Big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and Elephant). A .375 rifle is also a very versatile caliber and can be used on all plains game species as well. 300 Grain solids and 270 grain soft nose ammunition is a good choice for a .375 rifle. As a recommendation for all plains game species, calibers such as .300 Win Mag, 338, 7mm, 30-06 and the like, are best suited for African antelope. Our choice of bullet brands is either Barnes X, Woodleigh, Nosler, or Hornady softs. Choose a good quality variable scope to use on your rifle, as a suggestion 3x9 power is sufficient in Leupold, Zeiss or Swarovski make. Bring the rifle that you shoot best. We as Professional Hunters prefer good shot placement with a quality bullet over and above any high powered firearm. A typical safari starts with your arrival day/night in camp. We show you to your room to settle in, unpack and we familiarize you with the camp. Time permitting, we zero in the rifle/s at our shooting range to prepare you for the start of your hunt early the next day VEHICLES & TRANSPORTATION
Our hunting vehicles are four wheel drive, well maintained and fitted out with all the necessary equipment to make your safari a trouble free one. Radio contact with each vehicle and our base camp is a huge advantage on safari. We have a fleet of vehicles, should a back-up vehicle be needed and we also utilize a brand new Mercedes Utility Vehicle for transporting clients from the Kimberley Airport to either of our camps. YES we are a very serious operation when it comes to quality and client service and very proud to be able to offer our clients such professional service.
